Strawberry Inn Highway 108

Strawberry Inn borders Highway 108 several mile past Pinecrest. This mountain retreat has been there for 150 years. Many of the early buildings have since been destroyed, but Strawberry still attracts thousands of visitors each year.

Strawberry is home of the South Fork of the Stanislaus River. It offers both a serene murmur for tourists and a lively stream for anglers. You can follow the trail all the way downstream to Fraser Flat.

Strawberry contains several important businesses. These include the Strawberry Store ( Strawberry Store ) and the Strawberry Inn. They have become iconic landmarks on Highway 108. Vacation rental cabins are located throughout Strawberry, providing lodging for holidaymakers all year. Strawberry's location near Pinecrest, Dodge Ridge, Leland High Sierra Snowplay (and the rest) of Sonora Pass appeals to many renters.

When Tioga Pass Reopens?

Yosemite National Park (CA) -- Yosemite National Park had its spring and Summer travel season gates open this morning at 9 o'clock on Highway 120 Tioga Pass.

Officials from Parks Canada warn that there is still snow at 9,000 feet. Avoid walking on fragile meadows. Initially, there will be a limited amount of vault toilets at the pass. The visitor center, store and many other services will not remain open for several weeks.

The major rehabilitation project at Tuolumne Meadows has caused the campground to be closed both this summer and next.

Additionally, you can expect to experience delays up until 30 minutes on weekdays due to work at the pass near Tenaya Lake, Tuolumne Meadows, and an additional hour at night.

Sonora pass and tioga pass open

Sonora CA -- Caltrans opens two mountain passes tomorrow for the spring seasons.

Highway 108/Sonora Pass is in Tuolumne County. Highway 4/Ebbetts Pass is in Alpine County. Crews were able clear some sections of the highways so that the closure gate could be opened to allow the crews to move higher up the highcountry. Ebbetts Pass at the east end was opened, along with Sonora Pass from Eagle Meadows.

Two weeks later Highway 108 was moved to Kennedy Meadows . Caltrans reports crews worked overtime to remove any snow or debris , and meet the goal of opening all passes by the busy Memorial Day weekend. Caltrans reminds motorists about the dangers of traveling over these passes. The weather and road conditions may change quickly.

Yosemite National Park has yet to give an update as to when Highway 120 Tioga Pass will reopen. Officials at Yosemite NationalPark state that crews are still clearing snow from the pass and that it usually opens in late May to early June. For current road conditions, go to mymotherlode.com. Click the traffic tab.
